At the international day @Stenden I had a very inspiring meeting with Tytti Pintilä and her colleague Elina Kirjalainen. Short Cycle Higher Education, and especially the Associate degree developments in the Netherlands, was the main topic of conversation. Besides that, we discussed the impact of the introduction of Associate degrees in the Netherlands and the differences between Higher Education in Finland and the Netherlands, the work-based learning/ problem based learning concepts at Stenden University and the "paradigm shift" that is slowly emerging in Higher Education in the Netherlands. What a pleasure to learn from the success stories of the really committed educational culture in Finland and how good to find that with our work/study concept we can inspire others. And... what a great task lies ahead for both the Netherlands and Finland.... how about pushing the "paradigm shift" in higher education?
